Education Director Education
Scope of Work
Responsible for planning, organizing and management of DANAT’s Education Department.
JOB KEY RESULTS AREAS/RESPONSIBILITIES
·      Evaluates DANAT’s courses, programs and curriculum·
·      Ensures and overlooks the entire performance and competency of the Education Department·
·      Direct input in DANAT’s course material and teaching style as well as protocols·
·      Ensuring that the courses are consistent while being delivered·
·      Evaluating teaching skills of those providing the course·
·      Responsible for the creation of DANAT’s internal and external procedures related to the Education Department
·      Put in place DANAT’s Education Department’s short and long term financial and non-financial strategies, in line with DANAT’s overall goals.
·      Develop and report KPIs for DANAT Education Department and maintain appropriate reports for effective decision making and corporate performance management.
·      Sets individual year goals for employees in the Education Department.
·      Selects and manages ongoing relationships with, external consultants, training providers and vendors to ensure that DANAT and its clients receives satisfactory standards of service
·      Liaise and builds strong relationships with the Ministry of Education, Tamkeen, University of Bahrain and other local, regional and international educational bodies
·      Managing and liaising with awarding bodies (i.e. QQA)
·      Analyzes and identifies market needs for employees within the trade and develop an overall curriculum to meet market requirements
·      Overlooking the day to day operations of DANAT’s institute
·      Understanding the necessities of the education centre and equipping them accordingly
·      Keeps up-to-date on developments and innovations within the trade in relation to courses being offered to remain current and relevant; which leads to creation of additional courses
·      Create solid and profitable relationships with individuals within the trade in order to promote DANAT’s education courses
·      Identifying prospective events, trade shows, conferences to promote DANAT’s educational courses.
·      Liaising with the H.R. department to ensure DANAT’s employees receive the relevant training and courses for their professional development, in line with international standards.
·      Creates a planned timeline of DANAT’s courses being offered through-out the year
·      Work closely with the Marketing Department to ensure proper promotion of DANAT’s education courses
·      Responsible for yearly departmental budgeting and ensuring that the operations of the Education Department are in line with the allocated yearly budget
WORKING RELATIONSHIP / KEY INTERACTIONS
Interacts closely with Senior Management, Ministry of Education, Tamkeen, University of Bahrain, and local, regional and international educational bodies not limited to the gemological field.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:

·      University Degree in management or related field, a degree in education or gemology related studies is preferred
·      Recognized gemological qualification GG or FGA

Experience:

·      10 years working in an institute; preferably working in a laboratory with an institute is an advantage
·      Successful track record of creation and development of education courses
·      Management experience in departmental operations
·      Knowledge of training ecosystem and field

Skills:

·      Strong presentation skills
·      Project management
·      PC proficiency
·      Network of local and international training
